grounded
what is grounded?
let me not be grounded
shackled at the ankle to a bulbous weight
the soulless objects that surround me, the greedy tug of gravity
rooted
let me not be rooted
held fast to a single spot in space
a physical body that groans and splinters with unforgiving time
instead, I will be weightless
unfettered by the ties of structure and substance
free to go where I please
to drift in the morning breeze
