I am rebuilding my house, the one you tore down. Since you, I was not safe in the body they say is my home. But no more.
Now, I walk around with an invisible sign: “Under construction—engage at your own risk”.
The roof leaks a little, the shingles need painting, and I think there’s a squirrel in the attic. But the foundations are strong.
Those shingles will be bright blue, my door red, the garden bursting with sunny yellow flowers, and my people will help with the leakage.
Part of me will always love you, and for that I despise myself. But the red door is firmly locked, and I will never let you in.
