Those with no energy for courage must be brave

Bravery is reckless, she said. 

Courage is strategic. 

I can’t. 

Sapped of energy,

I’m tired of strategy. 

And they’ve drained my inner strength—there is none left for courage. 

Strategy is for those in between, the ones who have learned and lived some, but not quite enough. 

I will, I must, I can only, join the fervour of youth, the coda of age. 

Let me break, and then let me break (through) the world.

I don’t have any more to give.
